Posted by Don Morris on 5/11/2014 11:47:33 AM

Game 6: Pittsburgh Penguins (+102) at New York Rangers (-113)
EASTERN CONFERENCE SECOND ROUND – PENGUINS LEAD SERIES 3-2

The Rangers finally woke up from their three game goal slumber by scoring five goals in Game 5. Hendrik Lundqvist was sensational behind the net. The Ranger goalie stopped 31 of 32 shots as the Rangers won 5-1. While "King Hendrik" was superb, his counterpart had issues. Marc-Andrew Fleury has recorded two shutouts in this series, however he had a disastrous Game 5 . Fleury's poor Game 5 plus Game 6 occurring at Madison Square Garden, has made the Penguins a 1.5 goal (-300) underdog tonight.

Despite being underdogs in Game 6, the Penguins are currently the team with the third best odds to win the Stanley Cup at +400. Only Chicago at +275 and Boston at +200 are considered more likely to win the championship. Fans who like longshots can take the Rangers to win the Stanley Cup at +2,000. This game also features fascinating prop bets. The Penguins are -120 and Rangers are -110 to score more than 2.5 goals in this game. Both the Penguins and Rangers have scored more than 2.5 goals twice this series.

Game 5: Chicago Blackhawks (+181) at Minnesota Wild (-200)
WESTERN CONFERENCE SECOND ROUND – SERIES TIED AT 2-2

When Corey Crawford gave up four goals in Game 3, it was considered a freak occurrence. When he gave up four goals in Game 4 it was more like a start to a pattern. If Good news for Crawford is that he does not seem to be in panic mode. "We've just got to play the way we can: Move the puck and play with speed and skill, make the right plays at the right time," the Blackhawks' goalie said. Wild goalie Ilya Bryzgalov has only given up two goals in the last two games. Nevertheless the Blackhawks are 1.5 goal favorites (+150) going into Game 5.

The Blackhawks are not only favored to win Game 4, they are favored to win this series at -225, compared to the Wild at +195. Chicago is only behind Boston at +275 as the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Odds makers feel the Blackhawks will get some good home cooking in Chicago. The Blackhawks won Game 1 and 2 at home by a combined score of nine to three. Expect Bryan Bickell to be big tonight. He scored three goals combined in the first two games. Chicago captain Jonathan Towes also has demonstrated great leadership in these playoffs and will likely do so in leading the Blackhawks to a Game 5 victory.
