The stat that will catch your eye first about the Kings is that they’ve been unstoppable on the road, posting a 8-0 mark away from the Staples Center, which will help as they’re lower as an eighth seed, which means the Devils have home-ice advantage. Captain Dustin Brown has been a wrecking ball in the playoffs with 16 points, while Drew Doughty looks like the defenseman everyone thought he would be all season. Vezina-nominated Jonathan Quick wasn’t his best in the Phoenix series, but he should be able to regain some of that form for the Cup finals.

New Jersey comes into this series as a +150 NHL betting underdog, while the Kings are favored at -170 after rolling through the Western Conference, and these two met just once in the regular season, a 3-0 shutout for the Devils in Los Angeles way back on October 25, and neither Quick or Brodeur was in goal. The Devils have the edge here because they have a little more experience and even though the Kings defeated the top three seeds in their conference handily to get here, the Devils have played in the league’s toughest division (the Atlantic) all season long and they’re a little more battle-tested.
