Having locked up a playoff spot and seeking to seal up home ice advantage, the New York Rangers should welcome a home date against a team that has been eliminated from post season. But don’t expect the Rangers to get a break Monday night when they face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are the hottest team in the league.
Columbus Blue Jackets Preview (39-35-4 92pts):
The Blue Jackets have rolled up a franchise-record nine straight wins, and have taken 12 of their last 13. The latest victim was Pittsburgh on Saturday, by a 5-3 count. The Jackets did it on the strength of Nick Foligno's first career hat trick. It was the third hat trick in six games for the high-scoring Jackets, with Scott Hartnell and Cam Anderson pulling off the other two. Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has been an effective stopper along the way.
New York Rangers Preview (50-21-7 107pts):
The Rangers are seeking their fourth straight win, having beaten New Jersey at home on Saturday, by a 6-1 score. Rick Nash tallied his 42nd goal of the year, and has been the stalwart scorer for the team all season. Goalkeeper Henrik Lundqvist, out for 25 games in February and March, has been back to his old form. He had 35 stops on Saturday.

The Rangers should be well aware of the Blue Jackets’ tenacity and scoring potential by now and view this game as a good tune-up for the playoffs. That’s why Lundqvist should be back in goal for this one. But the Jackets have been beating good teams and have won eight straight on the road.
