Blackhawks Look To Clinch Best Record In NHL Versus Oilers Wednesday
The Chicago Blackhawks have been the most dominant team in the NHL all season. So it makes sense they will have a chance to clinch the league’s best record. The Blackhawks will look to do exactly that when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, with that being the only thing on the line in this online sports betting contest. Chicago is already locked in as the top seed in the Western Conference, while Edmonton is once again on the outside looking in with the playoffs right around the corner.

What the Blackhawks have been able to do this year has been nothing short of impressive, as they have a point in 39 of 45 games so far with a nearly identical record at home and on the road. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane have battled for the team scoring lead with 21 goals for the league’s second-highest scoring team, while Chicago has been even better at its own end with the fewest goals per game allowed this season. The tandem of Corey Crawford and Ray Emery have more than held their own in goal, but the defense in front of them has played at an elite level and that is a big part of their online sports betting success.
NHL Betting Preview: Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers haven’t come close to matching what Chicago has done this season, and for that reason change is to be expected in Edmonton this offseason. Taylor Hall has been a stuff with 15 goals and 30 assists to lead the team in both categories, but a roster that features Nail Yakupov, Jordan Eberle, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins finished just 24th in goals per game and the team lacked the balanced play at both ends of the ice that makes a team a contender. The one area where the Oilers excelled was on special teams where they ranked in the top-10 in both powerplay and penalty kill situations, but there were simply too many lapses at five-on-five to maintain a consistent level of success.

While there is a lot of change expected in Edmonton this offseason, the focus for the Blackhawks is sustained dominance and closing out the year the same way they have played all year.
