Boston Fires Back In Game Two

Posted by Carter Brown on 6/15/2013 4:36:48 AM

The Boston Bruins looked to almost be on autopilot when the second period of the first game of the Stanley Cup finals opened on Wednesday. The sports betting experts started to notice that Boston was getting sloppy in their line changes and inaccurate in their passing. Obviously, the Chicago Blackhawks noticed as well because they started to jump on the mistakes that Boston was making. Before the Bruins knew what was happening, their 3-1 lead had turned into a 3-3 tie. After 52 minutes of overtime, the Blackhawks had won.

The online betting sites had not seen the Boston Bruins make that many defensive mistakes in one game in a long time. That is why no one is particularly worried about Boston’s ability to come back and win game two. The Bruins made a lot of mistakes in game one, but Boston also did a lot of things right that can be replicated when game two faces off. When Boston focuses and corrects its game one errors, it will be that dangerous team which swept the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference finals once again.

Why the Bruins Will Win

The Bruins will win this game because Boston has the personnel it needs to bounce back after a breakdown loss in game one. The Bruins had been playing so well in these playoffs that a collapse was destined to happen. Now that the Bruins have put their collapse behind them, the sportsbook experts think that the time is right for a dominating win by the Boston Bruins. This team knows how to win a Stanley Cup and it will put all of its experience to work when the two teams face off for game two on Saturday.

Why the Blackhawks Will Win

The Chicago Blackhawks showed speed and determination when they won game one of this series. The Blackhawks had not had the chance to show a lot of grit in these playoffs, but Chicago certainly showed grit on Wednesday. All of Chicago’s big guns contributed to the comeback and the Blackhawks also looked very comfortable crashing the Boston net. Chicago will look to keep their determination going and maintain their physical play for game two. The Blackhawks know what they have to do to win this series; the only question is whether they can maintain that pace for four games.

The Bottom Line

Boston will come out in this game and try to establish the pace early. Boston will look to slow down the Chicago forwards and keep the play in the Chicago zone. The Blackhawks have already shown that they can push back against the Bruins, but it may be asking too much for Chicago to be able to match Boston’s physical play for two games in a row. Game two could be the game where Boston grabs control of the series and does not let go.

Pick: Boston Bruins
