The Patrick Kane Saga Continues

Posted by David King on 9/27/2015 8:42:57 AM

The Chicago Blackhawks and star player Patrick Kane have been dealing with a lot of drama lately. The 26-year-old has been accused of sexual assault by a woman who claims he assaulted her inside his mansion in Buffalo, and that has brought lots of negative publicity to the NHL, the defending champions, and, of course, Kane and his family members.

Fortunately for Kane, his teammates and the NHL have stood behind him during this difficult time, and it’s starting to appear as if this case might not even make it to the grand jury.

Why?

Well, the case is starting to lose credibility even before it is presented to a grand jury. Apparently, the accuser’s mother lied about finding an evidence bag in her doorway in an attempt to bolster her daughters claim.

"Obviously there has been an effort to create a hoax," Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita told reporters at a news conference. "I gotta figure out who was in on that, why they would do that and what it means vis-à-vis all the other evidence."

According to the prosecutor, nurses gave the mother an evidence bag after learning that her daughter for some reason decided to change the top she was wearing before filing a complaint. The mother was to put the top in the evidence bag and bring it back to the authorities.

However, the bag was never returned.

The fiasco surrounding the sexual allegations against Kane was enough to make the accuser’s attorney Thomas Eoannou resign from the case stating he was no longer comfortable representing the accuser.

As comical as the allegations against Kane are turning out to be, this is all good news for Kane, the Blackhawks organization, the NHL, and Kane’s attorney.

"This case needs to go away. It's tainted from one end to the other," Kane’s attorney Paul J. Cambria said. "It's obvious to me that Eoannou dropped out of the case because he was lied to by his client's family. They fabricated evidence. I told you yesterday that this whole thing was a hoax, and now it is obvious."
