Best NBA First Round Series (So Far)

With the NBA playoffs underway, several series have been dominated by one team, making them rather anti-climactic. However, a few of the eight ongoing playoff series have been thoroughly entertaining for a variety of reasons, and have made what had the potential to be a mundane first round an entertaining one. These are the top three first round series of the NBA Playoffs so far, which could see six or seven games to determine a winner.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks

This series really has had it all. It has had a confrontation between Mavericks bench player Charlie Villanueva and Thunder star Russell Westbrook before a game. It has had the Thunder blow a lead to allow the Mavericks to win a game. It has been a very interesting and unpredictable series so far and, while the odds are firmly in Oklahoma City's favor to advance, Dallas looks like it will at least make things difficult.

2. Toronto Raptors vs. Indiana Pacers

After the Pacers stole game one in Toronto thanks to a brilliant performance from Paul George, it was clear that this series would be a back and forth one. Toronto has since taken a game in Indiana to take a 2-1 series lead, and it's obvious that the only thing to expect is the unexpected, as live betting on this series will do plenty of shifting on a game to game basis you would expect.

1. Atlanta Hawks vs. Boston Celtics

After Atlanta took the first two games at home, game three was always going to be vital for the Celtics to have a chance to advance. After jumping out to a huge lead in game three, the Celtics barely held on to make the series two games to one in favor of the Hawks. But besides the results, there have been injuries and some apparent bad blood between the sides. That will make for a very interesting final week of this series, regardless of the outcome of the games.

All three of these series have been much needed after a first week of the NBA Playoffs that has seen teams like the Spurs and Cavaliers jump out to commanding leads. Hopefully these series will continue to save us from the monotony of the others.
