Should Cleveland Cavaliers Be Worried?

Posted by Jay Sanin on 5/29/2016 6:26:18 AM

After a tense Eastern Conference Finals win over the Toronto Raptors, the Cleveland Cavaliers are back in the NBA Finals with another chance to win an elusive championship for the city of Cleveland. But even though they won their way into the NBA Finals, should the Cavaliers be worried based on the way they played against the Raptors in the conference finals, or are they good enough to claim a championship regardless?

Home and Away Inconsistency

Even though LeBron James said that he wasn't worried when the Eastern Conference Finals were tied at two games apiece, the Cavaliers' lack of consistent play between home and away games has to be a point of concern for a Cleveland team that may end up having to win on the road to win their coveted championship. Against the Raptors, they lost by double digits twice in three road games, even though they clinched the series in Toronto in game six.

The biggest reason for this was that the Cavaliers struggled defensively and in the rebounding department in those road games, as lesser players like Bismack Biyombo were able to have huge games by grabbing offensive rebounds against the Cavaliers. Against the Western Conference champion, the Cavaliers will face tough big men that will be even more difficult for Cleveland to defend. They will have to be better at rebounding and defending the interior on the road in the NBA Finals.

NBA Finals Betting Online

With Cleveland in the NBA Finals, it's time to focus on NBA Finals betting online. The Cavaliers may end up at a slight disadvantage in the odds against the Western Conference winners simply by virtue of how well the teams in the west have played this season. That creates some value for Cleveland, who have the best player in the sport in LeBron James, who will be motivated to win a title for his hometown.

Cleveland will need to continue their hot three point shooting to have a chance to win the NBA Finals, with supporting players like JR Smith, Channing Frye, and Kevin Love all vital to the team's success in the final round of this NBA season.
