How Thunder Can Stop Steph Curry

The Oklahoma City Thunder have put up a great fight through the first two games of their Western Conference Finals series against the mighty Golden State Warriors. They split those two games in Golden State, and have put themselves in a position to win the series with wins in their three home games. And while the odds are still in Golden State's favor, the Thunder's ability to occasionally limit Steph Curry has been key in this series.

It truly does take a complete team effort to stop Steph Curry from destroying your team and shifting live betting odds in a matter of minutes like he did in game two of this series, but the Thunder managed to get the job done in game one of the series and look like they are more than capable of getting in Curry's way enough to make things difficult on him for extended periods of the series.

A huge reason for that success on defense against Curry has been the effort of Russell Westbrook, who is one of the few guards in the NBA with the speed and strength to fight through screens that is absolutely mandatory when guarding a player like Curry who relies so heavily on screens and shot fakes to get himself in a position to launch the deep jumpers that he is so deadly with. Westbrook will need to continue to avoid falling for fakes and stay on top of screens to give his team a chance to move to the NBA Finals.
