Football Betting Parlay Picks: 4-Game NCAA and NFL Parlay

Posted by D.S. Williamson on 9/25/2012 4:21:18 PM

After four weeks in college football and three weeks in the NFL, it's now finally time to unleash a football betting parlay picks wager.

The parlay that I put together below uses two games from the college schedule and two games from the NFL schedule. The football parlay picks bet is a 4-teamer that could, potentially, yield 10 to 1 or more. What that means is that if you put $10 dollars on the parlay and it hits, you'd be looking at a $100 or over net profit.

Not bad at all. Keep reading for the parlay!

Football Betting Parlay Picks

14 Ohio State at 20 Michigan State

Where: Spartan Stadium, East Lansing , Michigan

When: September 29 at 3:30 pm ET

Betting Odds: Michigan State -3

Analysis: Ohio State is 1 and 4 against the spread versus the following teams: Miami of Ohio, Central Florida, Cal and UAB. The Buckeyes starting QB Braxton Miller is also completing only 61% of his passes against those four teams.

Miller faces arguably the most daunting defense that he's likely to face this Saturday in the Michigan State Spartans. He also faces the terrific Sparty defense on the road in Ohio State 's first Big Ten Conference game.

Although the trends point to Ohio State covering in this contest, Michigan State 's D figures to be too much for the Buckeyes' quarterback. I see the Spartans really messing with Miller's timing, forcing a few turnovers, and covering the spread in this game. I'm making MSU to cover one of my football betting parlay picks.

Pick: Michigan State -3.

23 Wisconsin at 22 Nebraska

Where: Memorial Stadium, Lincoln , Nebraska

When: September 29 at 8:00 pm ET

Betting Odds: Nebraska -13

Analysis: Everybody is in love with Nebraska in this game, well, 57% of football betting handicappers are in love with the Cornhuskers in this matchup, because of Nebraska 's 3 and 1 against the spread record.

That record occurred versus Southern Miss, Idaho State , Arkansas State and UCLA. What was the one against the spread loss? You probably guessed it, to the UCLA Bruins on the road. In that game Cornhusker QB Taylor Martinez ran into all sorts of trouble. Martinez isn't very good at setting his feet before he throws, has a tendency to make terrible decisions, and, overall, just doesn't have the mechanics to be a good college football drop back passer.

The Badgers know all about Martinez 's flaws. They exploited those flaws in last season's game between these two when they forced Martinez into 3 interceptions and an 11 out of 22 day. I don't see much changing in this contest. Wisconsin will really disrupt Martinez .

I'm also getting 13 points. I have to make Wisconsin to beat the spread against Nebraska one of my football betting parlay picks.

Free Pick: Wisconsin Badgers +13.

San Francisco 49'ers at New York Jets

Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford , New Jersey

When: September 30 at 1:00 pm ET

Betting Odds: San Francisco -4

Analysis: I saw an interesting stat last night that showed what happens to the Jets' secondary when their best cornerback, Darrelle Revis, can't play. Revis, who suffered an ACL tear this past Sunday and is out for the season, anchors NYJ's entire defense according to the stat.

What was the stat? Opposing quarterbacks complete around 73% of their passes against J-E-T-S when Revis is on the sidelines. That's an amazing stat. San Francisco QB Alex Smith is already completing almost 70% of his passes. He's going to be even better against the Jets on Sunday.

The Jets' offense is moving the ball and scoring points but RB Shonn Greene is averaging a despicable 2.56 yards per carry in three games and QB Mark Sanchez has a 78.3 QB rating and is completing only 50.5% of his passes.

San Francisco 's defense is still the best in the NFL even though it gave up 24 points to Minnesota in the stunning 13 to 24 loss in Week 3. The 49'ers are going to be fired up facing the Jets after that loss. I don't see San Francisco not covering the spread in this one.

The Niners are the team to put into the football betting parlay picks wager in this contest.

Pick: San Francisco 49'ers -4.

Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos

Where: Sports Authority at Mile High, Denver , Colorado

When: September 30 at 4:05 pm ET

Betting Odds: Denver -6

Analysis: This matchup is definitely a “don't be fooled” game. Oakland came back against Pittsburgh at home and upset the Steelers 34 to 31 in Week 3. Pittsburgh was without Troy Polamalu and James Harrison, though. It's also a far cry from coming back and beating Pittsburgh at home to beating a quality squad like the Denver Broncos on the road.

But Oakland is getting 6 points from the 1 and 2 Broncos. The Raiders have a shot to beat the spread, right? Yes, the Raiders have a shot, but Denver should be out for blood in this one.

Oakland left everything on the field to come back against Pittsburgh while Denver blew out the Steelers at home in Week 1 and was competitive against the best team in the NFC right now, the Atlanta Falcons, in Week 2 and competitive against the best team in the AFC right now, the Houston Texans, in Week 3.

Peyton Manning continues to develop a rapport with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker while the rushing game is slowly coming together. The Raiders will likely be without WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, who suffered a head injury versus Pitt, and the Denver defense is solid. It yields 98 yards per game on the ground and only 234 yards per game through the air per.

It's difficult not to make the Denver Broncos to cover one of this weeks' football betting parlay picks, don't you think?

Free Pick: Denver Broncos -6.

4-Team Parlay Bet

$10 pays around $110

Michigan State Spartans -3

Wisconsin Badgers +13

San Francisco 49'ers -4

Denver Broncos -6
