• The Bruins are everything you can ask for in a Hockey franchise. They have a great history, great fans and this year they have a sparkling record of 117 points. They have the best record in all of the NHL and as a result they won the President's trophy. The dreaded President's trophy. The President's trophy is considered such a curse, the predominant custom now a days is for a team to refuse acceptance of the trophy. The first President's trophy was given out in 1986 and since that time only eight President Trophy winners have gone on to win the Stanley Cup. +…

  • The Western Conference winner has been the winner of the Stanley Cup the last three of four seasons. A lot of NHL teams are concerned about the East’s Boston Bruins, but there are a few teams in the West who can beat Boston. Also, the winner of the Western Conference this year will have an easier road than in years’ pasts. The Red Wings moved from the West to the East and they will be a force to be reckoned with in this years’ post-season. +…

  • The NHL playoffs are really the best playoffs in all of sports. To give you an idea of how insanely tough the Stanley Cup Playoffs are, a team who wins the Stanley Cup will most likely have to play more games in their post-season, than a Super Bowl winning team will have to play for their entire season (playoffs and regular season combined.) Unlike the NBA playoffs, where some teams take some games off, the NHL playoffs is always good, all the time. The Stanley Cup is not just one the greatest sports traditions; it is one of the best traditions in the United States. Players have had the dream of winning the Stanley Cup since they were children. Whoever wins the Stanley Cup lives on in hockey lore; by having their names engraved on the Stanley Cup. +…

  • Anything is possible, right? Those were the words said by Kevin "The Big Ticket" Garnett after he helped lead the Boston Celtics to their last title in 2008. Prior to 2008, the Celtics had not won a title since 1986, hence the motivation for Garnett's words. A prime Kevin Garnett and prime Paul Pierce did make obtaining the NBA title possible. This time it's a little different. Paul Pierce is 36 years old now and Kevin Garnett is almost 38. Both were traded from Boston to Brooklyn to help bring the Nets a title. The Nets are currently the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference. +…

  • Early in the 2014 baseball campaign we are going to get a treat, as one of the best MLB rivals will duke it out this week. The Dodgers and the Giants have been rivals back when Willie Mays and Duke Snyder used to roam the center field walls in Ebbets field and the Polo Grounds. Even with the move to California over 50 years ago, these two team despise each other as much as ever. Fuel has been added to this fire with the Giants winning the World Series in 2010 and 2012. The Dodgers have not won a World Series since 1988 but have the highest payroll in baseball at over $235 million. To give you some perspective, their payroll is more than 35 million dollars than the New York Yankees, who are 2nd place on the MLB payroll list. +…
