• > Just as in the West, it will be most likely one of two teams to represent the East in the NBA Finals. Despite being the oldest team in the NBA, Miami are the favorites to make the Finals at (-160). The major question with Miami is the running out of gas factor. They have played in the last three NBA Finals and many are concerned all that wear and tear will catch up to them at some point. Miami is trying to make its fourth NBA Finals appearance in a row. +…

  • Both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals come into their head to head series at 9-6. However the Cardinals are the much hotter team. They have won six of their last seven games. Washington has stumbled a bit, as they have lost four of their last six games. Bryce Harper has been battling injury, but is going to try to play Thursday night against the Cardinals. The Nationals will need Harper’s bat. He is second in batting on the team at .340. There is also some recent history between these two ball clubs. The Cardinals have beaten the National in their last six match-ups. It is also important to remember, many people picked the Nationals to win the World Series in 2012. However, they were derailed by the Cardinals in an epic five game first round series. In the last three years, the Cardinals have played in two World Series, winning the whole thing in 2011. The Nationals however, have never won a playoff series since moving to Washington from Montreal in 2005. +…

  • The Bruins are everything you can ask for in a Hockey franchise. They have a great history, great fans and this year they have a sparkling record of 117 points. They have the best record in all of the NHL and as a result they won the President's trophy. The dreaded President's trophy. The President's trophy is considered such a curse, the predominant custom now a days is for a team to refuse acceptance of the trophy. The first President's trophy was given out in 1986 and since that time only eight President Trophy winners have gone on to win the Stanley Cup. +…

  • The Western Conference winner has been the winner of the Stanley Cup the last three of four seasons. A lot of NHL teams are concerned about the East’s Boston Bruins, but there are a few teams in the West who can beat Boston. Also, the winner of the Western Conference this year will have an easier road than in years’ pasts. The Red Wings moved from the West to the East and they will be a force to be reckoned with in this years’ post-season. +…

  • The NHL playoffs are really the best playoffs in all of sports. To give you an idea of how insanely tough the Stanley Cup Playoffs are, a team who wins the Stanley Cup will most likely have to play more games in their post-season, than a Super Bowl winning team will have to play for their entire season (playoffs and regular season combined.) Unlike the NBA playoffs, where some teams take some games off, the NHL playoffs is always good, all the time. The Stanley Cup is not just one the greatest sports traditions; it is one of the best traditions in the United States. Players have had the dream of winning the Stanley Cup since they were children. Whoever wins the Stanley Cup lives on in hockey lore; by having their names engraved on the Stanley Cup. +…
