Man United yet again suffered a bitter loss to stay back at the 2nd position in the EPL following their debacle to Blackburn on the New Year’s Eve. Thumping their title chase hopes, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men lost to Newcastle on a margin of 0-3 at Sports Direct Arena.
Being the hosts, the 7th positioned Newcastle after 18 losses have ended their losing streak with a 3-0 win over Man United. All thanks to Demba Ba, Cabaye and Phil Jones own goal exactly on the deadlock.
Sir Alex Ferguson has now left with Tottenham gasping exactly under their berth, which with a win can equalise Man United’s stand in the EPL. Succumbed to their consecutive second defeat in the league, Man United is seriously in trouble for title chase.
Opening the goal scoring on the 33rd minute, Demba Ba made his 15th goal of the season by netting a goal which flew past Lindegaard to make up Newcastle with 1-0 in the first half.
Later on, just 2 minutes into the second half, Cabaye took over the chance to double up the goals as the Frenchman being 25 yards away from the goal spot, volleyed a kick which took left top corner into the goal post just having a narrow room overcrossing Lindegaard.
Adding on to 2-0 lead, Newcastle yet again scored 3rd important goal in the form of Jones own goal exactly on the deadlock. With a lot of confusion between Lindegaard and Jones, the defender Dane tried to head the Jones effort but to his bad luck pitching on to his hip, the ball straight away resulted to be inside the goal post causing Newcastle end up with 3-0 win over Man United.
